Career Biography

As a member at Zarwin, David H. Oh chairs the International Practice Group and co-chairs the Employment Practice Group. In addition, Mr. Oh concentrates his practice in litigation, arbitration, government relations, employment, white collar/criminal defense, civil rights, immigration, personal injury, sports and entertainment, general liability defense, and workers’ compensation. Mr. Oh has extensive trial experience, including jury trials. He represents clients in federal and state court, as well as, administrative courts. Mr. Oh is a frequent speaker on legal issues. Mr. Oh has been profiled in numerous newspapers and magazines. Mr. Oh has appeared on television and radio concerning law-related topics including major cases that he has handled.

Prior to joining Zarwin Baum in 2008, Mr. Oh was the President and Managing Attorney of The Law Firm David Oh, P.C. Mr. Oh established the practice in 1990. David’s clients included Graham Packaging Company, Glaxo SmithKline, HSBC Bank USA, Drexel College of Medicine, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, City of Philadelphia, Mercy Health Corporation, Temple University Health System, School District of Philadelphia, SWIF (State Workers’ Insurance Fund), Workers’ Compensation Security Fund, Philadelphia Parking Authority, Fraternal Order of Housing Police, as well as many medium and small businesses and individuals.

Mr. Oh is a former Philadelphia Assistant District Attorney and a former Officer, U.S. Army 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne). During the 1980's and 1990's, Mr. Oh established and managed a free legal services program for indigent Asian Americans and Asian immigrants. In 1999, Mr. Oh was responsible for organizing the itinerary of Governor Tom Ridge’s trade mission to South Korea, including arranging meetings with the President of South Korea and major corporate leaders. In November 1998, The Player magazine included Mr. Oh in its profile of Philadelphia’s fourteen Leaders of the Next Millennium. On November 21, 2002, The Philadelphia Daily News included Mr. Oh among fourteen persons interviewed for an article entitled Very Influential Philadelphians... Very Innovative Plans for Growth.


In 2007, Mr. Oh ran for Philadelphia City Council At-Large. Although he won on Election Day, he lost by 122 votes days later when absentee ballots were counted. Mr. Oh was endorsed by The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Philadelphia Tribune, The Northeast Times, and The Philadelphia Sunday Sun. Mr. Oh was also endorsed by the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce-Penn PAC, The Black Clergy of Philadelphia and Vicinity, Teamsters Joint Council No. 57, SEIU Pennsylvania State Council, United Food and Commercial Workers’ Union local 1776, Fraternal Order of Housing Police, Gas Workers’ Union local 686, and Pentecostal Clergy PAC.
