Career Biography

Defendingprofessionals in litigation matters requires an aggressive attorney with superior knowledge of the standard of care and a steady hand in guiding the professional client through the often traumatic litigation process.  Joe Denneler is a trial attorney regularly counted on to protect the interests of our professional clients. 

As a member of the Firm’s Professional Liability & Malpractice Defense Group Joe defends real estate appraisers, real estate brokers and agents, lawyers, accountants and insurance brokers and agents in litigation matters.  Joe is also a member of the Firm’s Commercial Transportation Litigation Group defending commercial fleet operators and drivers of tractor trailer combinations, busses, taxis and limousines. In addition, Joe has extensive experience in insurance coverage disputes and casualty fire claims. Joe is an experienced trial attorney who has successfully defended several cases to verdict.  Joe has also argued many appeals in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. 

Over the last ten years Joe has developed a niche defending home inspectors against professional liability claims in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  Joe has been asked to defend home inspectors in State and Federal Courts, as well as in contracted-for Mediations and Arbitrations.  As a result of his extensive experience representing home inspectors Joe is frequently requested to speak nationwide to inspectors on issues ranging from inspection report writing, drafting inspection contracts and preventing liability claims.  Joe is often asked by insurance carriers to consult on claims against home inspectors all over the United States.  Joe is the counsel of choice to defend home inspectors by many of the largest insurers of these professionals, and his proven track record and commitment to success gives him a distinct competitive advantage.  In addition to litigating home inspection claims Joe is General Counsel to the New Jersey Association of Licensed Professional Home Inspectors (NJ-ALPHI) where he routinely provides lectures and continuing education seminars to New Jersey home inspectors.

Joe started his legal career with the Firm as a law clerk while still in law school.  Joe has risen through the ranks here to become a Shareholder.  Joe received his undergraduate degree in Communications/Public Relations from Rowan University and his law degree from Rutgers School of Law.  Philadelphia Magazine identified Joe as a Rising Star in 2006 and again in 2007.  Joe wrote an in-house publication for insurance clients, The Defense of Professional Home Inspectors in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and Insurance Law Update: Understanding Current Coverage Trends – Construction Defect Claims for the National Business Institute.    Joe has given seminars for the American Society of Home Inspectors, Inc. (ASHI) , Garden State Chapter, ASHI, Long Island, NY Chapter,  National Association of Home Inspectors, Inc. (NAHI), New Jersey Association of Licensed Professional Home Inspectors (NJ-ALPHI), and a panel speaker for the Allen Insurance Group.
