Zarwin, Baum Hosts 18 Korean Biotech Companies
On Thursday October 28, 2010 the law firm of Zarwin, Baum, DeVito, Kaplan, Schaer and Toddy welcomed a delegation representing 18 Korean biotech companies by holding a reception in their honor.
The delegation had attended a conference at Philadelphia’s Convention Center as part of a world wide organization known as KOTRA seeking to develop relationships with businesses in the United States in the biotech industry.
The reception was attended by numerous city officials as well as representatives of the Philadelphia’s Visitors Bureau.
On the next day the delegation was given a private tour of the Independence Hall historical buildings arranged by Harris Baum, Honorary Consul General for the Republic of Korea, a senior member of the Zarwin, Baum law firm.
That same afternoon they gathered before the Korean American Memorial in Society Hill and prayed together in memory of those Americans who gave their lives to seek freedom and democracy for South Korea.
From the memorial they were taken by bus to the Philip Jaisohn Health facility which caters to the care of Korean Americans in Philadelphia and adjacent communities. Philip Jaisohn is a hero to the Korean people, the first Korean to become a United States citizen and the first Korean to become a medical doctor in America.
