Ken Fleisher Receives Award for Work on Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Diversion Pilot Program

June 30, 2009

On June 30, 2009, the First Judicial District celebrated the first anniversary of the Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Diversion Pilot Program.  Among those honored at the event was Kenneth Fleisher, chair of Zarwin Baum’s Real Estate Department, who received a Certificate of Appreciation for his “outstanding dedication to the efforts” of the Program and “continued commitment” to its mission.

Since its inception, Mr. Fleisher has served as a judge pro tempore in this unique and cutting-edge Program, hearing and attempting to reconcile contested cases between a lender and borrower in default of his or her mortgage.  Mr. Fleisher also serves as the chief coordinator of all judges pro tempore who volunteer to participate in the Program and has assisted the Court in teaching these volunteer attorneys how to properly handle such matters.

Earlier this year, Mr. Fleisher was recognized for his efforts both in this Program and in other Bar Association initiatives by being awarded the 2008 Pro Bono Publico Award for the first Judicial District of Pennsylvania.
