Zarwin Baum Attorneys Help NJ Clients Meet March 7th Extension To Apply For Remedial Investigation Reporting Deadline

February 14, 2014

In late January, 2014, Governor Christie signed a bill enabling New Jersey property owners and remediators to apply by March 7, 2014 to extend the looming May 7, 2014 deadline to submit remedial investigation reports. Zarwin Baum attorneys immediately stepped in to help clients apply for the extension, including satisfying the ominous requirement of establishing a funding source to complete the investigation. Zarwin Baum is particularly well-suited to help these clients, because of its attorneys’ expertise in environmental law, insurance, and financing. The remedial investigation report deadline is one of the most critical to any person remediating old contaminated sites in New Jersey – failure to meet it will result in the state taking over control of remediation, greater remediation costs, and the imposition of even more extensive financial assurance requirements. Meeting the March 7th extension application deadline is therefore critical for parties who may be unable to meet the May 7th report deadline.

For additional information on the remedial investigation deadline extension, or any other environmental matter, contact Paul M. Schmidt at or 215.569.2800.
