Zarwin Baum Hosts 2nd Annual PHILAlympics

July 17, 2014

On Thursday, July 17, 4-8pm at the Wells Fargo Center, companies from across the Philadelphia region will join Zarwin Baum DeVito Kaplan Schaer Toddy, P.C., along with The Fun Department for the 2nd annual PHILAlympics benefitting Philadelphia’s Ronald McDonald House. PHILAlympics is a competition in which participants will fight for the coveted title of ‘Philadelphia’s Phunnest Company” using wits, athleticism, and their knowledge of the City of Philadelphia.

The friendly competition will consist of a series of challenges designed to maximize teambuilding, networking, and fun and that will test the mental and physical abilities of participating teams. The exhilarating challenges this year include: The Fun Department’s Adult-Tricycle Races at the Ballpark, Pretzels and Cheesesteaks’s Foam Finger Relay, The Philly Skyline Inflatable Tower Build, Team Philly Themed Trivia Challenges, The “Yo Adrian” Boxing Gloves Tug of War, Famous Philadelphians Challenge, and lastly The 4, 5, 6 Legged Eagle End-zone Race. The victors of the day’s competition will receive a trophy to remember their glory.

This year’s participating teams include:Aberdeen Wealth, Capital One, Comcast Spectacor, Conestoga Bank, Enterprise Cloudworks, The Fun Dept., The Hub, Integrity Staffing, Jako Enterprises, Keenan Autobody, Klein Hersh, Magna Legal Services, PCS, Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, SEER Interactive, and Zarwin Baum.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Philadelphia’s Ronald McDonald House, which has been supporting the families of seriously ill children since 1974. The Ronald McDonald House relies on individual and corporate donations for over 90 percent of their funding. It costs the organizations over $75 per family to provide housing and supportive services while families are asked to contribute $15 per night. In addition, no one is ever turned away due to the inability to pay. At the inaugural event in 2013, PHILAlympics raised $20,000 for Philadelphia’s Ronald McDonald House and named Comcast-Spectacor ‘Philadelphia’s Phunnest Company’ after 90 minutes of friendly fun and competition.

Registration will begin at 4pm, with the competition starting at 5pm. A networking reception will follow the event.

The cost for company teams is $2500; and the cost to be a spectator is only $10. To sign your company up to participate, contact Stacey Kracher at For more information and to RSVP as a spectator, Be sure to follow the firm on Twitter @ZarwinBaum for daily updates!
