Mega-Hydrofracturing for Natural Gas in Marcellus Shale
February 23, 2010
On February 23, 2010, Paul M. Schmidt, Co-Chair of the Environmental Practice Group at Zarwin Baum, will address the Niagara Group of the Sierra Club, in Buffalo, NY. Mr. Schmidt will discuss “Mega-Hydrofracturing for Natural Gas in Marcellus Shale”. Drilling for gas in the Marcellus Shale has fostered intense debate from Ohio through Pennsylvania and into New York State, out of concern for impacts from the drilling activities, leaking wells, water usage, and spills of waste and liquids used in the drilling processes. Mr. Schmidt represents several groups of residents whose domestic wells, property and health have been impacted by Marcellus gas wells, and is counsel to a leading public interest organization which focuses on the issue.
