Zarwin Baum Shareholder Anthony R. Twardowski Appointed to the Board of Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy

Zarwin Baum shareholder Anthony R. Twardowski has been appointed to the Board of Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy.

A shareholder in Zarwin Baum’s commercial litigation department, Anthony concentrates his practice on complex commercial litigation including surety, fidelity, construction, bad faith, insurance coverage and related issues. Anthony also has extensive litigation expertise in a variety of substantive commercial areas such as lender liability, insurance liquidation, professional malpractice, partnership disputes and corporate governance, intellectual property, creditor rights and real estate. His broad experience includes numerous jury and non-jury trials before state and federal judges, as well as many arbitration/mediation proceedings. In addition, Anthony has significant skills in international litigation, having overseen parallel litigation for many years, involving substantial surety, construction and indemnity claims, pending in New York federal court and in various courts throughout Brazil.

A 1979 graduate of Temple University and 1982 graduate of Temple University’s James E. Beasley School of Law, Anthony’s professional activities include involvement with the National Bond Claims Association, the Surety Claims Institute, the Philadelphia Surety Claims Association, the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Philadelphia Bar Association. Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy is a 501(c)(3), Philadelphia-based non-profit organization dedicated to providing therapeutic horseback riding programs for children and adults with physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. Led by PATH-certified instructors using innovative equine-assisted programs, Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy seeks to improve the quality of life for program participants and their families. As the city's only full-time therapeutic riding program, the Academy provides over 100 lessons per week to individuals with disabilities, helping riders improve muscle strength, flexibility, motor skills, communication, mental focus, and self esteem. The Academy also features an autism program, a 6-week summer program, a Senior Saddles program for riders ages 55 and older, and an unmounted equine facilitated learning program.
