Zarwin Baum & the School District of Philadelphia Host ‘Support-Our-Schools’ Corporate Partnership Breakfast with Remarks by Dr. William Hite

May 28, 2015

WHAT: Zarwin Baum DeVito Kaplan Schaer Toddy, P.C. in conjunction with the School District of Philadelphia will host a ‘Support-Our-Schools’ Corporate Partnership Breakfast. The morning will include remarks from School District of Philadelphia superintendent Dr. William Hite regarding the vital need for corporate partnerships in order to create a stronger education system that will in turn build invested communities and a proficient workforce.  Additional remarks will be provided by Albert S. Dandridge III, Esq. and William Fedullo, Esq., the current and past Chancellors of the Philadelphia Bar Association, respectively; and a representative from Wells Fargo.

WHY: Despite ongoing efforts by city officials to shore up funding, the School District of Philadelphia is dealing with a looming $80 million budget deficit. Calling attention to this shortfall and its far-reaching repercussions on our communities, Mayor Michael A. Nutter has asked Philadelphia’s businesses to pick up the torch and invest in their own futures by making school funding their top priority. Without addressing this issue now, there could be a drought of local, skilled and ready members of the workforce to staff positions in the next decade.
