Government Relations
The government relations department at Zarwin, Baum, DeVito, Kaplan, Schaer, & Toddy focuses on both timely solutions and long-term strategies for businesses, non-profits, associations, and individuals. Our services are available to clients regardless of party affiliation. Our skilled and experienced team of lawyers and consultants handle local, state, and federal matters. In addition, we provide campaign consulting to elected officials and candidates.
As part of our international practice group, we represent U.S. clients who do business overseas and overseas clients who do business in the United States. Our team is also experienced in organizing international trade missions.
Because public entities often behave quite differently than private entities, clients can find dealing with them to be mysterious and frustrating. Clients faced with a problem or an opportunity involving a governmental entity benefit from our analysis, advice, and advocacy. Our government relations team analyzes the matter and explains the real situation to our clients. Next, we advise clients on how to resolve the problem or secure the opportunity. Finally, we advocate on behalf of our clients and ensure that our clients' concerns or abilities are fully appreciated. Often, this includes arranging face-to-face meetings, presenting information, drafting legislation, monitoring proposed legislation, and interacting with community organizations.
Clients who want to ensure that decision makers are aware of their issues and concerns seek our communication skills and credibility. These clients may also want to ensure that they are aware of the issues and concerns of decision makers who affect their interests. In this regard, our services typically include newsletters, letter writing campaigns, briefings, position papers, speaking engagements, media events, and meetings.
