Roy Yaffe is an attorney in Zarwin Baum’s Business Practice Group, with a practice focus on nonprofit organizations, business entities and professionals; estate planning and administration; employment matters and real estate transactions.
Roy provides representation to nonprofit organizations, businesses and professionals in formation, organization and governance issues, including a focus on the representation of design professionals, including architects, landscape architects, engineers and graphic designers in general and design-specific business, contract and government matters. Providing counselling and representation of clients in estate planning and administration, general employment matters including employment contracts and discrimination issues, and real estate sales, acquisitions and leasing also are key areas of Roy’s transactional practice.
After graduating from Dartmouth College and Georgetown University Law Center, Roy served a clerkship in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County and as Acting General Counsel of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, where he successfully defended a challenge to the Pennsylvania law prohibiting discrimination in places of public accommodation before the U.S. Supreme Court. He and Michael L. Golden Jr. co-founded the law firm of Gould Yaffe and Golden in 1976.
