Gregory M. Mallon, Jr.

Gregory M. Mallon, Jr. is a shareholder and member of the Firm’s Casualty and Professional Liability Practice Group. Greg concentrates his practice on complex civil litigation defense, primarily defending our clients in matters involving liquor liability (e.g. dram shop, social host, fraternities), transportation, construction, products liability and premises liability matters, many of which are significant damage claims. He has devoted his entire legal career to defense litigation and thus has gained substantial experience in multiple practice areas and jurisdictions.

Greg is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey.  Greg’s devotion to the practice of law commenced at an early age as he comes from a family of lawyers; his father is a Common Pleas Court Judge in Delaware County, Pennsylvania and his mother is a family attorney.

Greg prides himself in being able to assess potential strengths and weaknesses in cases very early on allowing him to fully advise his clients as to how they can best limit risk and expense. He has sat first and second chair in multiple trials and arbitrations with great success. His skills and experience have led his peers to nominate him as Pennsylvania Rising Star in 2020 and 2021.

Greg resides in Media, PA with his wife, his three children, and their dog. When not practicing law, Greg is active in his community as a little league coach and member of the Upper Providence Sewer Authority.

Deadlocked Philadelphia Jury Forces Last Minute Settlement in Catastrophic Case

Zarwin Baum attorneys Ted Schaer and Greg Mallon defended a local Fortune 100 Company during a heavily contested two-week IN PERSON JURY trial in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia. The trial involved horrific injuries incurred by a pedestrian struck by the defendant’s vehicle in the roadway. Despite an admission of negligence by the Company, Schaer and Mallon’s unique trial strategy caused enough doubt in the Juror’s minds to prevent a verdict following 15 hours of jury deliberations on the issues of recklessness, comparative negligence, and damages.

Zarwin Baum’s Summary Judgment on Behalf of a Facilities Management Company Upheld by Superior Court

Zarwin Baum obtained complete dismissal of its client via summary judgment in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Plaintiff alleged that Zarwin’s client was negligent in managing Philadelphia’s Criminal Justice Center where the elevator malfunctioned.
