Zarwin Baum Breakfast Series Featuring School District of Philadelphia, PIDC and Charter School Renewal on ‘Renewing & Financing Successful Charter Schools’

September 9, 2015

WHAT: As students head back to school this fall, Zarwin Baum DeVito Kaplan Schaer Toddy, P.C., will host a breakfast seminar to educate local leaders on issues surrounding Philadelphia’s successful charter schools. In the latest installment of Zarwin Baum’s ongoing breakfast series, an expert panel will discuss and answer questions on charter schools’ renewal, regulatory and financing considerations, including:
• How have legal and regulatory requirements for charter schools changed?
• How does the School District evaluate charter schools?
• What are successful strategies for parent engagement and community involvement at charter schools?
• What are the sources of financing available to successful charter schools?
WHY: Public education is an important component of Philadelphia claiming its place as a World Class City.  While 86 brick and mortar charter schools operating in Philadelphia educate over 40,000 students, many of us are unclear on the specifics of regulation, evaluation and funding of the City’s charter schools. Zarwin Baum has assembled an expert panel to shed light on the essential questions around the charter school debate.
