With respect to charter schools, our attorneys have experience serving as bond counsel or underwriter’s counsel for programs in California, Texas, Colorado, and Pennsylvania. Recently, the team closed a $30 million bond financing for a Philadelphia charter school, which retained existing “New Market Tax Credits” financing. Moreover, our attorneys served as Disclosure Counsel for a West Philadelphia charter school that accessed the capital markets for the first time.
Where infrastructure and Public-Private Partnerships are concerned, our attorneys have advised cities in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New Mexico on legal policies and best practices for utilizing video security cameras as a force multiplier for local police. When the Carlyle Group sought to purchase the City of Pittsburgh’s parking assets through a public-private partnership, our team served as their counsel and worked to prepare and place a $380,000,000 bid. Moreover, our attorneys also created an RFP process for a borough to sell its water and wastewater system to a regional municipal authority, which addressed the system’s deferred maintenance while providing the borough $4,000,000 to allocate to other budget items.
