Recovered $1.5 Million by settlement at mediation for a 29-year-old woman who was a backseat passenger in a serious car accident. The defendant made a sudden and illegal left-hand turn into the path of  the plaintiff’s vehicle, causing a violent collision, spinning the defendant’s car 360 degrees and rolling it over. Both vehicles were disabled at the scene and the plaintiff was transferred to the hospital by ambulance. The plaintiff suffered a displaced fracture to her arm as well as significant nerve damage that required multiple surgeries.

Prevailed in an effort made by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to dismiss an action brought by a man whose leg was severed when the car he was in crashed into a guardrail.

Successfully tried a jury case in Montgomery County where an emergency medical technician slipped on water in the cafeteria of Abington Memorial Hospital. The jury verdict was four times the offer made by the hospital before trial.

In Federal Court, recovered against a life insurance company who refused to pay benefits to the family of a man who died in a fall accident. The defendant argued the fall wasn’t the cause of death, but the case was resolved in front of a Federal Court Judge.

Prevailed in litigation on behalf of a woman who tripped and fell in a movie theatre. Mr. Leffler established that the lighting and hand railing were defective. No offer was made prior to the trial.
